Green Chili Willy"s has exceeded all expectations of owners Bill "Willy" Douglas and Margaret Glasscock, perhaps because of Willy's twenty years experience in the restaurant business and attention to detail. This unique "joint "serves only 100 percent certified Angus beef to ensure its beef dishes are tops. They also serve up buffalo burgers, ground buffalo steaks and chicken breast.
The building is made from and decorated with old fencing, as well as Glasscock's art and has a cozy Southwest feel to it. "I wanted everybody to come in and feel like, 'Oh man, it's like we're in Grandad's ranch house,' " Glasscock has said.
Ron went there recently and had the Ribeye sandwich on Sourdough. Oh my, it was scrumptious and just as ordered. The fries were fresh cut and among the best available in the panhandle. The salad was fresh and crisp. Service was prompt and efficient.
Green Chili Willy's is in a dry county between Amarillo and Canyon, therefore it is BYOB. This has not hindered the succes of this fine establishment at all. They have been rewarded for their expertise and we have every reason to believe that you will feel that you will have the same experience.
