BEST ASIAN RESTAURANT BEST SELECTION THAI FOOD

There is no substitute for experience in the fine restaurant business.  After our first visit we learned why everything was so perfect.  When Ron returned to invite Taste of Thai to join our program at TheLocalsGoHere.com, he learned that owner Steve Kongdara had been with My Thai Restaurant for sixteen years.  Managing one of the finest Thai restaurants in Amarillo certainly gave Steve the knowledge to go out on his own.

On our visit we were greeted immediately and with a smile.  We were impressed with the relaxing open atmosphere of this somewhat new restaurant and noticed the fine banquet facility off the main dining room.  The booths were very comfortable and of course almost new.  The cleanliness of Taste of Thai was among the most immaculate we have seen.

Another thing that impressed us was the prices on the extensive menu.  Nine choice are offered as lunch specials and all are $6.00 for one entree or $6.50 withe two choices of entree.  Nothing,absolute nothing on the main menu is priced at more than $8.95 and most meals are $7.00 to $7.95.

So, the atmosphere is great, the prices are great, but what about food?

Ron ordered the Deep Fried Sweet and Sour Pork and the Deep Fried Garlic Chicken.  Everything was perfect and the egg roll was exceptional.  The most impressive part of the meal was the Sweet And Sour dipping sauce.   It had an abundance or vegetables including carrots onion and bll pepper.

Carol ordered the Sainghi Noodle (stir fried egg noodle with chicken, shrimp, baby corn, green onion, straw mushrooms served over steamed rice)---only $7.00.  Carol stated that is was the most perfect cuisine of its type that she had ever eaten.

Hungry yet?  We sure weren't when we left.  The portions are generous and they served us huge glasses of fresh iced tea and kept offering to refill our glasses.  The wait staff wants to be sure you are satisfied with everything and observe our table frequently.

We usually have at least one criticism of a restaurant----NOT HERE.  We left feeling that we had enjoyed fine cuisine at a bargain price.  We recommend all restaurants that we review (or we wouldn't review them) but, Taste of Thai deserves our highest praise.

Amarillo area residents as well as visitors to the area should visit this fine establishment that is open SEVEN DAYS A WEEK --11:00 AM  TO 9:00 PM
