We love this place! It's a tiny holy-in-the-wall dive, but the food is absolutely outstanding. The burgers rock, and that comes from a burger junkies. The steaks are cooked just right, and even the chicken sandwiches are delicious. Usually, chicken is cooked a little too long and dries out, but not here. We love it!
These burgers would be great anywhere, but in the atmosphere of this place, it just makes the burger that much greater. Coyote Bluff Cafe does its best to reach back into that pocket of nostalgia and deliver it with an enormous side of slightly sweetened, partially skinned fries. Come here for the atmosphere first. It's dark, grease-stained walls are decorated to the ceiling with kitchy posters, license-plates, etc. In the center of the dining area sits a calf trough of wonderfully cold bottled brew. It's fun to go pick out your own beer and expect the waitress to know. The crowded experience is worth it if you come early and order a big cheeseburger.

Coyote Bluff is in a small building- be prepared to wait during busy times.
Coyote Bluff does receive a steady stream of out of town traffic, especially during rodeo and fair time. They get a lot of business from the American Quarter Horse and the different rodeos and working ranchers when they're in town.
Ron went there for lunch and had the California (1/2 lb of meat), with green chili, guacamole, grilled onions. The onion rings are great! The burger was the three napkin type. They all are, so they have a roll of paper towels on each table.
Apparently word about their burgers has spread nationally because the Travel Channel was recently in Amarillo just to do a segment on their "Burger from Hell" which is made with sautéed fresh jalapenos, habanera sauce and a few other key spicy ingredients. Coyote Bluff features several specialties, including cheese fries and rib eye steak. They really have a little bit of something for everybody, Well, except maybe those on Weight Watchers.
