Our Review

Ron stopped in for lunch and was very impressed with the fact that this unique establishment is almost completely run by family.  Everyone is very attentive and making a real effort to serve their rapidly growing customer base.  Many historic 6th street business owners and their employees have made Cowboy Gelato a frequent stop for lunch, dinner or a refreshing break  for Gelato or a Frappe.

Now the food.  Wow....the creative sandwiches are made with your choice of white, wheat or pepper jack SOURDOUGH bread.  Ron's impression: "Probably the best bread I have ever had and the "Eastwood" pork loin sandwich was wonderful.  I am an onion ring freak so I ordered them as one of the several available sides with my sandwich......again,  quite possibly the best in Amarillo."

Ron and Carol stopped by the next evening and ordered take out Gelato.....what is Gelato?  ....Italian ice cream.  Read more about  Cowboy Gelato on their website.  What a treat.  We had the lemon and the cherry.  Both were different and very refreshing.....the lemon was absolutely outstanding.

Be sure to check out all the other creative treats on their website (see below).  Once you have visited this unique establishment, you will stop in frequently or every time you are in the Old Route 66 Historic District browsing the antique shops.  Locals and visitors alike must put Cowboy Gelato on their must see list.

We can't wait to return and try other sandwiches and interesting sounding treats.  We wiil publish an update soon.

Come as you are.  The decor is very casual and don't fail to bring the kids or grandkids...there is a very reasonable kids menu.........and, no smoking or alcohol.
