Calico County is definately a place to go for some down home eats.  We have  found this long established restaurant to be quaint  with a very nice selection for lunch and dinner. There breakfasts are apparently very nice also. 

Ron had the chicken with rice and a mushroom wine sauce.   It was among  the best he has  ever eaten. As always the baked squash casserole was awesome.  Carol had the chicken with rice and a mushroom wine sauce.  All of the food was good, served as ordered. Coffee wasn't burnt at 7PM, so we will give them that one, too.  The food was great but the service was exceptional.

We went there again and Ron had the senior or lite eaters Ranch Hand rib eye and it was  cooked to perfection.  It comes with a petite salad and two veggie choices.  Ron had the interesting chicken Fried corn-on-the-cob and Pot Roast Potatoes.  All the food was great.  Carol had the chicken fried steak with fried okra and broccoli and rice casserole.  All were deemed excellent.

All Calico County "All American Favorites" come in two sizes; senior/lite eaters and traditional dinner size.  All come with choices of two veggies or a baked potato. The wet fries, fries covered with gravy, are supposed to outstanding.  The sandwiches and burgers come with choice of fries, wet fries, Onion Rings, Cole Slaw, or Fruit Cup.  

The interior of the place is definately unique. It's got the "down home, metal sign" style of so many other places.    We will go back:
